Organizers of the Somerset festival have revealed a new queuing system will be introduced in time for their autumn sale.

Glastonbury have changed their ticket purchasing process.

The festival, which takes place June 25-29 next year, has released its FAQ with all the important information needed before fall ticket sales.

The organizers explained on the page: “The reservation process itself for 2025 will be the same as in previous years, but the way in which you participate in the reservation process is changing.”

They continued: “Rather than refreshing the wait page to try to get to the reservation page, this year when ticket sales begin (at 6 p.m. or 9 a.m. respectively), everyone who is already on the glastonbury.seetickets.com page will be randomly assigned a place in a queue to access the reservation process.

The random assignment could be a response to many Glasto hopefuls’ suggestion that a voting system would be more fair.

However, not everyone thinks this is the right path to take.

One wrote: “So now a lot of people who didn’t bother to try beyond the first 5 minutes and sat and moaned on Twitter during the sale can sit there with equal opportunity… think it’s terrible news.”

Another remarked sarcastically: “I can’t wait for this to go off without a hitch and for everyone to complete SeeTickets for a job well done.”

The first sale of Glastonbury Festival tickets will take place on Thursday 14 November for coach + ticket packages and Sunday 17 November for standard tickets.

So far, no one has been confirmed as a headliner for the festival, but everyone from Eminem to Rihanna are among the names rumored to headline the bill.

Alanis Morissettewho previously announced UK and European dates for next year, appears to have a Glastonbury-shaped gap between his show at Amsterdam, Ziggo Dome on June 25 and his concert at Malahide Castle in Dublin on June 29.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Dear is “in talks” to play the coveted tea timeslot.

If the Believe icon were to play the Legends role, it would put her in good company with the likes of Shania Twain, Dolly Parton, Barry Gibb, Diana Ross, Burt Bacharach, Kylie, Lionel Richie, Kenny Rogers, Paul-Simon, James Brown And Shirley Bassey all having played in the iconic slot over the years.
