Victor Osimhen can’t catch a break from the underhanded digs aimed at him by the Napoli family following his acrimonious departure from the club last summer to join Galatasaray.

Osimhen was determined never to play for Napoli again and left the club at the end of last season and discussions over his future continued throughout the summer.

Ultimately, he was unable to secure a start after the club botched his move to Paris Saint-Germain and Al-Ahli’s deal with Chelsea collapsed in the final minutes before the deadline.

He was left out of the 2024/25 Italian Serie A side, after which he received an offer to join Galatasaray on a season-long loan, with the Turkish window still open at that time.

Big Napoli fan wants to dig in against Osimhen

Italian author and big Napoli fan Maurizio de Giovanni has raised questions about Osimhen’s commitment to the club and community during his four years at Napoli.

“The Nigerian never interacted with the city, he didn’t say a word in Italian and he had problems with the locker room,” he told Vikonos radio/TV Web, as quoted by Tutto Naples.

“The choice of Conte has rebalanced things,” he added.

Conte ordered Romelu Lukaku to replace him and, according to The Athletic, the Blues wanted a swap deal for Osimhen, but the Nigerian and his agent Roberto Calenda did not agree.
