LeBron James supports Kamala Harris for president with anti-Trump video

LeBron James lends support behind Kamala Harris.

Los Angeles Lakers star shared his approval of the Democratic presidential candidate on social media on Thursday, October 31, alongside a video montage featuring Donald Trumpracist and xenophobic rhetoric.

“What are we talking about here??” James, 39, wrote. “When I think about my children and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!

The short video begins with comedian Tony Hinchcliffe – who sparked widespread anger after calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage”” at a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden in New York last Sunday – making a joke about black people and watermelons.

“He’s a buddy of mine, we had fun, we cut up watermelons together,” Hinchcliffe said at the gathering.

The video then cuts to sound clips of Trump, addressing past comments he has made about black jobs, the city of Detroit and the Central Park Fiveamong others.

In between, images of the civil rights movement and Black Lives Matter protests mix with people waving Confederate flags, while Trump can be heard in a compilation of moments in which he appears to encourage violence.

The video ends with the words “Hate is taking us back,” after showing a clip of Trump’s appearance on Larry King live in 1989, in which he discussed the Central Park Five – now known as the Exonerated Five.

“Of course I hate those people, and let’s all hate those people, because maybe hate is what we need,” Trump told King.

The video – which was viewed by nearly 16 million users as of Friday morning – was produced for James’ use by HollandWestProductions, The Athletic reported.

The basketball superstar has previously been outspoken about his political beliefs and supported the former president. Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton And Joe Biden in the past.

In a 2018 interview with ESPN, following which a conservative journalist Laura Ingraham implored him to “shut up and dribble,” James shared his disapproval of Trump.

“The No. 1 job in America, the appointee is someone who doesn’t understand people,” he said, adding at the time that some of Trump’s comments were “laughable and scary.”
