Byungjoo Park, the siblings’ father, said “Hello America” Sophia is dedicated to becoming a lawyer, which “was always part of her path.”

“This is the result of four years of consistent and dedicated work. This did not happen overnight,” the father of four, acupuncturist and U.S. patent agent wrote in an email. “She has a deep understanding of the law and is committed to using it justly. This is only the beginning of her journey.”

Both Park siblings work in the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office and District Attorney Tim Ward released a statement praising both.

“Sophia’s incredible accomplishments speak for themselves, and we couldn’t be prouder as an office family,” said Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward. “The success we have experienced with our law students, our interns and our lawyers who have achieved their professional dreams is truly remarkable. The dividends for our office have been immense and we are thrilled to be part of Sophia and Peter’s continued success. »

The State Bar of California also called the teen’s achievement “outstanding.”

“The State Bar of California proudly congratulates Sophia Park on passing the California Bar Exam at just 17 years old,” State Bar Executive Director Leah Wilson said in a statement. “This remarkable achievement follows the similar success of his brother Peter Park last year, further highlighting their extraordinary dedication and talent. Passing the state bar exam at any age is a tremendous accomplishment, and doing so at 17 years is truly exceptional.”

According to the Tulare County Prosecutor’s Office, Sophia enrolled in law school in 2020, when she was just 13 years old and in high school. She graduated from high school two years later and received her law degree earlier this year from Northwestern California University School of Law.

Besides her two older children, Byungjoo Park said her third child, daughter Sarah, is also attending law school and is in her second year, while the youngest Park sibling, Andrew, is in her second year.

Sophia is currently a law clerk in the Tulare County Prosecutor’s Office and after she turns 18 next spring, she will obtain her attorney’s license. She plans to follow in her brother’s footsteps and become a prosecutor.

“As a prosecutor, I will work to ensure justice is served and victims’ voices are heard,” Sophia said in a statement shared by her employer.
