Alabama Community College and Medical Center Receives $1.5 Million Donation

The estate of a former Alabama university professor has donated more than $1.5 million to a Marshall County community college and hospital system.

Snead State Community College and Marshall Medical Centers each received $793,000, according to a news release from the school.

Bobbie Glassco was a professor and administrator at Snead State and served on the board of directors of the Marshall County Health Care Authority. She and her husband, Truman, organized the Alabama School of Gospel Music at Snead State in 1987. Snead hosted 100 students at her recent gospel event.

“They have been generous with their time and talents to provide assistance in any situation needed,” the Glassco family said in a news release. “They took the talents God gave them and greatly multiplied them to help others. Countless people will benefit from the generosity of Truman and Bobbie Glassco.

The school plans to use the donation to fund scholarships and campus improvements.

Truman Glasco died in 2004 and Bobbie Glasco died last year.
