Sean Davisco-founder of the pro-Trump website The Federalist, said that if the former president Donald Trump doesn’t win the White House, it’s proof that the entire electoral process is a “manufactured facade.”

The Trump critic turned MAGA diehard took to X on Monday to make the case for a race that polls show is a toss-up between Harris and Trump.

“Either Trump wins or the election in this country is a completely fabricated facade,” Davis said. In another post, he said a Trump defeat would mean the election would be “rigged” and democracy would be “truly over.”

Of course, the latest polls indicate that the election is “historically close”as data analysts at cable news networks and major media outlets repeatedly found that the candidates were tied or so close that any calls remained well within the margin of error. Sounder Nate Silver described the election as “pure throw” as its own model gave no definitive guidance on who might take office after the final vote count.

Davis’ view is also entirely consistent with his comments throughout this election year. For example, he called ABC’s presidential debate “rigged.”

In May, Davis even claimed that Democrats had “faked” an “entire pandemic.”

He even recommended that his detractors read a book called Riggedwritten by the editor of the Federalist Mollie Hemingway:

Many turned to X to point out that Davis’ claim of a rigged election was absurd.

If anything, Davis’ claims make clear that Trump supporters are preparing to reject the election result if Harris wins — a 2020 déjà vu that will continue in the months to come.
