Emmerdale star James Chase has hinted at a twisted double exit as his character Tom King’s reign of terror finally comes to an end.

Viewers will know that Tom has been physically and mentally abusing his wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor Draper) for months.

And although she has escaped his clutches, her torment is far from over as Tom continues to torment her around the village, with Belle even facing prison for hitting him with an ax in self-defense.

But amid desperate calls from viewers for Tom’s vile acts to be stopped, the actor suggested the sinister vet will soon bow out of the ITV soap – but not without one final act of cruelty.

Hinting that Tom will stop at nothing to get what he wants, he said: “He always has a plan, trying to scare Belle, manipulating whoever he can. Tom always has a plan and he has some thing up his sleeve because he has to if he wants to come out of this situation on top.

And while the soap star didn’t reveal exactly what his character was planning, he did confirm the dramatic scenes were “intense” to film.

Meanwhile, James has hinted at a double exit, with Tom potentially planning to flee the village with his girlfriend Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell).

It was reported last night that actress Daisy, who plays Amelia, had been axed from the ITV soap, with her final scenes due to be performed just before Christmas.

As for whether the couple will run away together, James added: “He tells Amelia they can move together partly because he has no friends here anymore and is hated in the village . So that’s definitely an important aspect. But it’s also like when he went to Wales with Belle, it was a way for him to completely control her and have her all to himself. So I think maybe it’s the same thing, whether it’s subconscious or not.

James added that Tom’s goal is to have as few people around Amelia as possible so that she depends on him, adding that it’s something his sinister character “enjoys a lot.”

He said: “To be honest, Tom is a survivor so I think it will take the first few months for the reality of the situation to set in. He would probably be incredibly depressed and scared of where he is, but over time he would evolve and I fear he might come out worse, depending on the severity of the prison and gender. of people he meets there.
