Police and FSB officers arrested three people working at a military recruiting center in the Vladimir region. The Interior Ministry spokeswoman said Wednesday that the suspects stole the SIM card numbers of men enlisting as contract soldiers and then took remote control of their bank accounts, embezzling more than 11 million rubles ($113,000) in compensation paid to soldiers.

Authorities say they have seized the stolen money and the suspects are now in custody awaiting theft charges.
