KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16: The Ministry of Home Affairs recently conducted a large-scale road safety campaign in Khaitan region. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of the Interior. Several key field sectors participated, including the General Department of Traffic, the General Department of Emergency Police, the public security sector, special security forces and a notable contribution from female police officers. The campaign led to the issuance of 2,511 traffic violations and the arrest of 33 people. Of those arrested, 19 violated residency and employment laws, 5 were wanted for fleeing, 8 had outstanding arrest warrants, and 1 person was arrested without proper identification. In addition, 13 wanted vehicles were seized and one person was arrested in abnormal condition. This campaign highlights the department’s commitment to improving highway safety and maintaining public safety through coordinated and effective enforcement efforts.
