Google has an exciting new Doodle game up its sleeve, just in time for Halloween!

The tech giant’s playful take on holidays, historical events, and cultural milestones via its Doodles search home screen is one we cherish dearly. The 25th anniversary of the tech giant saw the arrival of a “Most Wanted Playground‘Doodle, while a’Celebrate PopcornThe game has been making the rounds recently, particularly due to its multiplayer nature.

Now, with Halloween just around the corner, the tech giant is treating us once again by bringing back a spooky classic.

Google has released its classic Magic Cat Academy Doodle for the first time for Halloween 2016and revisited the concept with second part for Halloween 2020. The mini-game is back for a third installment, just in time for Halloween 2024, marking a four-year release period.

From now until the end of October 31, visiting the Google Search home page will offer users the opportunity to join Momo the Cat on a journey through Earth’s atmosphere. The Doodle is available to play on the web and on mobile, but if you’re like me and play PC games with a mouse and keyboard, you’ll fare much better on the web version, such is the nature of the game.

There’s more where that came from

The mini-game basically pits you against monsters in the atmosphere, including sheet ghosts, evil bats, spiders that won’t let you pass, and much more. Each monster appears on the screen with a symbol above his head. These include ^ – | @and more. Your task is to quickly draw the symbols you see above your enemies’ heads to eliminate them, or risk them hitting you and taking one of your five lives.

This is easier than it looks, especially in the last stage when the speed at which enemies approach you increases significantly. I lost quite a few lives trying to take screenshots for this article while scribbling enemy symbols. Try the mini-game, it should take you around 56 minutes to completely complete it.
