COALITION FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION AND BUSINESS

Denver

News: Attendees at the November 14 Elevate Educators Evening are advised to prepare for a trip down memory lane, as School Photo Day is the theme of this fundraiser for the Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC ).

“Dust off those charming outfits our moths loved and join us in rediscovering the innocence and joy of childhood,” reads the invitation to this 18-hour event at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science . “This is the perfect opportunity to relive those fond memories while showing our support for the educators who are transforming our classrooms into spaces of equal opportunity.”

Some 300 friends of PEBC are expected to attend, raising a hoped-for $150,000 to support the more than 100 teachers enrolled in PEBC’s teacher residency program each year, 35 percent of whom identify as teachers of color. Money also goes to PEBC’s professional education program that improves classroom teaching nationally and to Colorado school districts that receive increased financial support thanks to PEBC’s policy team.

Admission to Elevate Educators Night is free for all PK Educators – $12 and $75 for Friends of PEBC. Online registration can be done by visiting pebc.org

Sponsors include DaVita, Suffolk Property Management, Westerra Credit Union, Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell, Aurora Public Schools, Chevron, Alpine Bank, Boettcher Foundation, 1st Bank, Kaiser Permanente, Adams 12 Five Star Schools, CareerWise Colorado, Cherry Creek Schools , Teach for America and the Colorado Rural Schools Alliance.

About the organization: The Public Education & Business Coalition is a nonprofit organization that recruits, trains and supports future teachers through a residency program. It aims to prepare exceptional educators for the state’s classrooms.
