THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) recognized the Davao City Government as the most outstanding local government unit in the region during the Council for Peace and Order and Struggle Performance Awards against drugs 2024.

The city’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and order through the exemplary implementation of its projects and programs promoting peace and order as well as its initiatives to combat illegal drugs led to this significant achievement .

In the functionality audit of the Peace and Order Council, the city scored a total of 91.49 percent; while its Drug Abuse Control Council (Adac) scored 85 percent in the Adac performance audit.

Vice Mayor J. Melchor Quitain Jr. received the award during a ceremony held at the Apo View Hotel on October 25.

Jaffar Marohomsalic, action manager of the City Drug Abuse Control Council (Cadac), said that the result of these performance evaluations shows that the city government complies with the DILG in terms of drug abuse activities. prevention against illegal drugs.

Marohomsalic said that aside from the continued collaborative efforts with the barangays, Cadac also provides training and workshops to private establishments not under the city government to enable them to create their own programs and initiatives ensuring that their establishment is free drug.
