After a six-month contract impasse, Haason Reddick is officially set to debut with the New York Jets on Sunday.

Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha, Reddick’s agents, told ESPN Adam Schefter The two-time Pro Bowler signed his reworked contract with the Jets on Saturday and will make his debut tomorrow against the New England Patriots.

Reddick ended his resistance Sunday when his agents told him Schefter he agreed to an adjusted contract with the Jets.

Rosenhaus said at the time that they would “continue to work toward a long-term extension with the Jets” now that that part of the negotiations is complete.

The Jets originally acquired Reddick in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles on April 1. He was seeking a long-term contract from the Eagles before the deal and he never requested a trade, while also understanding things from a business perspective.

Even after the trade to the Jets, Reddick never showed up for any offseason activities, including organized team activities, mandatory minicamp, training camp and preseason, while he was looking for a new contract.

Reddick’s reworked agreement pays him the remainder of the $8.7 million base salary from his original contract, as well as the possibility of receiving an additional $5.3 million in performance bonuses.

Schefter noted that the Jets have agreed to forfeit more than $12 million in fines that Reddick has accrued for all of his missed time, which includes seven game checks of regular-season games in which he did not play.

The Jets pass rush has been inconsistent so far this season. They are tied for sixth place in the NFL with 21 sacks, but their winning rate of 36 percent ranks 24.

Will McDonald IV has been the only consistent source of pressure on New York’s defense. He already has a career-high eight sacks, and tied for seventh in the league with seven tackles for loss.

Reddick will give the Jets another high-profile pass rusher. He had at least 11 sacks in each of the previous four seasons.

The Patriots are a great team for a defensive lineman to get his feet wet after a long absence. They have given up the second-most sacks (25) in the NFL. Even though the offense played better with Drake Maye at quarterback, he was still sacked six times in his first two starts.

New York looks to end its four-game losing streak and build some positive momentum. This is a good week to do so as the Jets already have a 24-3 win over the Patriots in Week 3 when their offense reached a game-high 400 yards.
