Bam Adebayo is passive

Bam Adebayo has been the Miami Heat’s biggest disappointment four games into the season.

The Heat are 2-2. Adebayo, who just won a gold medal, has high expectations for improvement and goals for victory in the defensive POY, struggled.

Adebayo averages 11 points, 7.3 rebounds, three assists and one block. He’s shooting 39.5 percent from the field and hasn’t made a 3-pointer. Remember, he wanted to shoot 3 seconds. He hits two threes per game, missing all eight attempts.

I said shooting 3s was a bad idea. He only makes 9.5 shots per game. Hell, he’s also shooting 66:7 percent from the line.

He was led by Karl Anthony Towns to the tune of 44 points and 13 rebounds on 68 percent shooting. Where is the defense??? Simply put, Adebayo needs to play better. Lack of aggression has long been a problem. He is not aggressive. That’s why I’ve constantly stated that he’s not who people think he is. And nothing has changed. He’s a passive player who just doesn’t have the personality to be the A team on a team.

Meanwhile, Tyler Herro is shooting nearly 48 percent and leads the Heat with 22 points, five rebounds and five assists per game. If only Bam had Herro’s offensive attitude.

Will we see it one day? Probably not.
