UW and LCCC launch Student Express transfer agreement

The University of Wyoming and Laramie County Community College have launched a collaborative effort to help LCCC students in select majors efficiently complete their bachelor’s degrees.

The Express Transfer Agreement (ETA) program allows LCCC students in select programs to be co-admitted and co-advised by the UW; streamlines the transfer of LCCC credits to UW degrees; and gives LCCC students the opportunity to experience UW sporting events, concerts and other activities.

“The University is excited to be part of this new partnership with a valued community college partner to create even smoother pathways for students to earn their associate’s degrees and then earn their bachelor’s degrees from the University,” said UW President Ed Seidel. “We hope this pilot program will grow to include more fields of study and more of our great Wyoming community colleges.”

“This is an exciting opportunity for our students and demonstrates the continued commitment of both institutions to supporting and improving the transfer process,” said LCCC President Joe Schaffer. “Through the co-advisory model and clear programmatic alignment, this partnership will help prepare our students for success once they graduate from LCCC.”

The ETA program is currently offered to full-time students enrolled at LCCC who aspire to earn a bachelor’s degree in elementary education; secondary education; criminal justice; and business and accounting.

The centerpiece of the new program is co-counseling, in which LCCC students are assigned advisors from both LCCC and UW and receive regular access and communication from both. Once a student reaches the transfer point, they will automatically transition to full UW student status and enroll for the following semester with a complete understanding of the path to earning a UW bachelor’s degree.

Invitations to participate in the program have already been sent to LCCC students in ETA’s specific degree programs this semester. More information is available at
