COLORADO SPRINGS — Part of I-25 was closed Thursday evening, causing delays and headaches near the Nevada/Tejon South Exit 140.

The accident involved a pedestrian and occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Police closed the road and did not reopen until 8:30 p.m.

Police said based on their initial investigation, it appears a person was attempting to cross southbound I-25 when they were struck by a vehicle.

The driver remained at the scene and obeyed police commands. Speed ​​and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash according to police.

The person was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for serious injuries.

No arrests have been made and the person’s condition was unknown Friday morning.

Two 14-year-olds arrested in series of Colorado Springs break-ins

Colorado Springs Police (CSPD) have arrested two 14-year-old boys who they say are connected to several recent break-ins. The teens were arrested Nov. 8 and are being held at the Zebulon Pike Youth Services Center.

Two arrests have been made in connection with burglaries in Colorado Springs.
