The Education Regulatory Agency has indefinitely banned a teacher from the profession after finding him guilty of “unacceptable behavior” with three pupils from different schools where he worked.

Daniel Usher-Clarke worked at two secondary schools in Taunton, where he was found guilty of sending inappropriate messages and making sexual comments to several pupils.

The panel found that Mr Usher-Clarke’s conduct “fell significantly below the standards expected of the profession”.

Mr Usher-Clarke can appeal to have the restraining order lifted in 2029, five years from the date of the hearing.

Under the ban, Mr Usher-Clarke is “banned from teaching indefinitely and cannot teach in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children’s home in England”.

Mr Usher-Clarke taught at Castle School and Bishop Fox’s School.
