Kai Cenat Mafiathon 2 livestream updates: KaiCarly, Twitch ban, crush and more

Joe Pring

Kai Cenat is one of the most popular content creators on Twitch, with an all-time active subscriber peak reaching 306,621. But for Mafiathon 2, he’s looking to surpass that number.

Although he was dethroned from the top spot in October 2024, Kai remains the second most subscribed user on the streaming platform, regularly attracting five-figure live audiences and significant surges during certain events, like his Elden Ring Marathon.

With day one of Mafiathon 2 over, here are some of the highlights from the first 24 hours, along with the full timeline you need to know that led up to Cenat’s latest adventure.

How long has Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 2 been going on?

Kai Cenat’s ultimate goal with this sub-athon is surpassing Ironmouse’s all-time sub-record on Twitch to regain his place as an essential Twitch streamer. But there is a problem.

Currently, Kai Cenat is back on Twitch and live. Just a few hours after reaching the 130,000 sub-milestonepolice searched his home and initiated a Twitch ban, but he emerged unscathed from the crash and resumed streaming.

Kai Cenat gets crushed and surrounded by police

Kai Cenat was crushed during his livestream. Cameras showed helicopters circling his home as police rushed to investigate the call.

It’s only the second day of the stream and someone watching has already found out where they’re hosting the stream. And just minutes after showing police searching his house and helicopters surrounding his residence, he was banned from Twitch.

And then unbanned about 10 minutes later.

He crossed the 140,000 sub mark at least upon his return to Twitch, so his viewers supported his return. However, following the ban, he lost VoD on the first day of his stream and is trying to get it back.

NPC Miles Morales passes by here

Going to bed at the end of the first day, Cenat asked for help from TikTok star NPC, Miles Morales to yell at the followers while he got some sleep, but not before the two men performed an NPC swap.

Appearance of KaiCarly Miranda Cosgrove

The first day of the event saw actress Miranda Cosgrove make an appearance in a segment dubbed KaiCarly, inaugurated with its own bespoke opening sequence riffing on Disney Channel shows from the late ’90s and early ’90s 2000.

Streaming for charity

On November 1, Cenat announced that 20% of all revenue generated from the event would be donated to charity. Specifically, the funds will be used to build a school in Makoko, an informal settlement on the coast of Lagos, Nigeria.

“We will finance this entire project out of our own pocket with full staff, classrooms, uniforms, etc. 20% from November, starting tomorrow,” Cenat said at the time.
