Instagram recently introduced a major update that removes the much-criticized “rug pull” feature.

According to Gadget360This change follows user complaints about the feed automatically refreshing every time they opened the app, which users found quite irritating.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri confirmed the update during a recent Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on social media.

“Rugg pull” was an internal Instagram term used for the feature that automatically refreshed the feed when users opened the app, particularly after being inactive for a period of time.

From now on, the platform feed will no longer automatically refresh when reopening the application after a short pause.

This feature will allow users to see posts that initially appear on the screen without automatic refreshing.

Instagram will now load content in advance but won’t display it until the user scrolls down. The newly loaded post will then appear below the already visible posts.

Additionally, Instagram recently added a new feature that will allow users to easily add a song from other people’s posts, Reels, and Shorts to their Spotify playlist.

In addition to this, Instagram also unveiled a unique new feature for creators, making sharing their profiles easier and more enjoyable.

This new feature allows users to design a double-sided digital card, along with customizable options.
