Salt Lake City International Airport receives $15 million in funding for expansion

SALT LAKE CITY — The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced $970 million in Bipartisan Infrastructure Act to 125 U.S. airports, including $15 million for Salt Lake City International Airport. This is the fourth investment of nearly a billion dollars since the law was adopted.

The SLC International Airport funding is one of several projects receiving terminal facility expansion funding that aims to improve competition and service opportunities by new or competing air carriers.

The airport funding will contribute to phase 4 of the Airport Redevelopment Program for the construction of approximately 16 new gates as part of the expansion of Hall B to increase capacity and access for new entrants.

The newly opened Central Tunnel and Concourse B Plaza are part of Phase 4 with more gates and concessions expected to open on Concourse B-East through 2026, according to Salt Lake City International.

The FAA funding announcement covers 125 U.S. airports across 46 states, Guam and Palau. The funding will include $40 million for Tampa International Airport, $15 million for Denver International Airport and $33.2 million for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
