A recent study reveals the most searched for slang words among Americans and Kentuckians in 2024, and many of the Commonwealth’s residents’ favorites align with the national consensus.

Experts in Décrypteur.com analyzed Google Trends from 2024 through October 25 to determine the most searched for slang words in the “ever-changing” English language.

“Many slang words are born through trending topics and viral videos on social media. However, only a few manage to stick around long enough to be added to the dictionary and remain in daily use,” said a door -speak from Unscramblerer.com. “Slang words are a normal and fun development of language. We encourage everyone to learn new words and surprise their children by using them.”

According to Unscramblerer.com, the most searched for slang words in Kentucky are:

  3. Skibidi refers to a viral internet trend featuring surreal animated videos of singing toilets and dancing heads, popularized on platforms like TikTok.
  4. Will have refers to the vibe a person gives off.
  5. Falcon Tuah is the imitation of a spitting sound.
  6. Sen is slang for itself.
  7. Nickname refers to a nickname or descriptive name given to a person or thing.
