LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Good news and bad news regarding a viewer email update from earlier this year regarding dangerous left turns in the far southwest valley.

In May, Alan wrote:

“I have seen many drivers heading east on State Route 160 (towards Las Vegas) making illegal left turns onto Avery Street just so they can get onto State Route 159 – all because they don’t want to turn left at the intersection. Highway 159 traffic light at 20 seconds! The Nevada Department of Transportation should install a no left turn sign and police should ticket violators.

Well, here we are 6 months later, and Alan has a new video showing NDOT putting up a “no left turn/no left turn” sign. Unfortunately, this same video shows people doing the exact same thing over and over again.

Alan, thanks for your hard work on this. Now we need the Nevada State Police to spend time out there letting drivers like this know that illegal shortcuts can hit them in the wallet. And I would certainly hate to talk about a serious injury or fatality happening there.
