FORMER Limerick senior footballer Billy Lee has guided Austin Stacks to the Kerry Intermediate Football Championship title. Lee in his second year at the helm of the Tralee-based company.

Last year, Fossa spectacularly beat Austin Stacks in the Kerry IFC semi-final on penalties. Austin Stacks beat Laune Rangers 1-14 to 0-5 in Kerry’s intermediate football decider yesterday.

Intermediate champions Kerry will now represent their county at Munster IFC.

Billy Lee was previously coach of the Austin Stacks senior team in 2016. The Newcastle West native was in charge of Limerick from 2017 to 2022. During his six years, Treaty County claimed promotions from the Division 4 in Division 2.

Limerick reached the Munster final under the management of Billy Lee in 2021. Billy’s brother Jimmy Lee is entering his second year in charge of the Limerick senior footballers.
