Kevin Stefanski Reveals Cleveland Browns’ Biggest Goal for Rest of Season

At 2-7 this season, the Cleveland Browns enter Week 11 with a tiny percentage chance of making the playoffs. That won’t stop them from trying.

In his first press conference following the team’s bye week, head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed that the team would not go into evaluation mode for the remainder of the season, simply because of its poor record . According to the Browns boss, the Browns are always hyper-focused on one thing each week.

“The number one goal until 100 is to win,” Stefanski said Monday. “There may be times where we have young players who have earned a role and gained the ability to go out there and help us win, but that doesn’t change the goal.”

Stefanski faces a tough situation in the final eight games of the season. With a roster full of veterans, he needs to make sure the team prioritizes winning above all else, or he could risk losing the locker room.

This won’t stop the outside noise about whether or not the team should use the remaining schedule as an evaluation process for players throughout the depth chart. Perhaps most notably, these conversations center around whether or not the team should start the second-year QB. Dorian Thompson-Robinson the rest of the way. Stefanski was quick to reaffirm that the veteran James Winston would, however, remain the team’s starter, at least for the moment.

Stefanski described Winston’s starting status as being both for the “length” of the season but also “week to week.” This means that at a minimum, Winston will have the opportunity to play against his former team, the New Orleans Saintsthis weekend.
