Jackson State men’s basketball head coach Mo Williams signs contract extension

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Another big name has committed more of his coaching future to Jackson State University.

Friday, JSU President Dr. Marcus Thompson and Vice President/Director of Athletics Ashley Robinson announced that head men’s basketball coach Mo Williams, an NBA champion and All-Star, has signed a contract extension with the university. We don’t know how long.

“I’m blessed, definitely blessed and honored,” Coach Williams said. “This is my home, I believe in this program, I believe in this university, and it warms my heart to feel the same way at the university.” I want to thank the President, Dr. Thompson, our AD, and everyone who was involved in making this decision.

Williams, a Jackson native, is in his third year at the helm of the men’s basketball program and has led the Tigers to a fourth straight berth in the SWAC.

During his tenure thus far, the Tigers have had notable wins over SMU, Missouri, Arkansas State,

Jackson State Head Football Coach TC Taylor also signed a contract extension on Friday.
