Rain moves slowly eastward this evening Wednesday

Here is your Tuesday afternoon forecast for November 12, 2024, provided by the Weather Authority of Minnesota and meteorologist Matt Serwe.

Winds pick up again as the next wave of low pressure moves toward the plains. Southeast gusts over 30 mph are possible through Tuesday afternoon. As highs return to the upper 40s, these winds will make the temperature cooler.

The wind also draws dry air from the east. This will keep rain out of the Twin Cities until Wednesday morning. Central and western Minnesota will be soggy Wednesday, with precipitation totals above 0.50 inches possible. Scattered showers begin across the metro in the afternoon and totals remain closer to 0.10″ to 0.20″.

Rain chances continue to decrease until the second half of the week. Temperatures are moving in the opposite direction, returning to the 50s for several days. We are only 43 days away from Christmas, so I would recommend turning on the lights this weekend. The trend becomes wetter and cooler next week.
