Crews battle fire at Royale manufacturing company

The crews were fighting against a big fire Tuesday at a manufacturing company in Tulsa, Oklahoma, local officials said.

Around 11:20 a.m. local time, Tulsa firefighters asked people to avoid the area.

Firefighter spokesperson Andrew Petit said the fire was located at Royala manufacturing company, and its teams fight a fire in an oil tank farm.

So far, no injuries have been reported, Little said.

“Firefighters have made great progress and continue to work to put out the fire,” Little told USA TODAY shortly before 11:40 a.m. local time.

According to the company’s website, Royal is “a leading manufacturer and marketer of American-made lubricants and greases.” The company manufactures hundreds of different types of lubricating oils and greases using “biodegradable, synthetic and mineral base oils for all types of applications including: mining, construction, oil and gas natural, steelworks, marine, industry, agriculture and transport. “

Royal was acquired by Axel Christiernsson in 2018.

Firefighters reported closing Charles Page Boulevard between South Gilcrease Museum Road and South 33rd West Avenue. “Please find alternate travel routes while firefighters work to bring the fire under control,” the department posted on social media.

Little said no injuries had been reported as of midday Tuesday.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
