Former police inspector banned after sending message to sex worker

Mr Wyatt went to his workplace and disclosed his application to a colleague.

Giles Bedloe, presenting the competent authority’s case, suggested that Mr Wyatt’s presence at the recruit’s workplace amounted to “an element of harassment”.

“It was deeply inappropriate and it had a significant impact,” he said.

Deputy Chief Constable Arman Mathieson, who chaired the hearing, also said it was “deeply inappropriate”.

“She was bothered by the presence of a serving police officer at her workplace,” he said.

Mr Wyatt was not present at the hearing at Gloucestershire Police headquarters but did not dispute the facts of the four allegations.

He was also accused of failing to inform police of the existence of two business interests and of creating a Tinder profile with a photo of himself in uniform holding a long-barreled firearm.
