FLORENCE, Ky. (WXIX) -One person was taken to the hospital and another person was arrested after a stabbing that happened Saturday evening in Florence, according to Florence police.

Officers say they were called to the parking lot of an apartment complex on Pinehurst Drive around 6:30 p.m.

When police arrived, they found Frederick Stroud, 48, suffering from multiple stab wounds to his back, arms and torso, police said.

Officers report that Stroud reported being involved in a physical altercation with Michael Johnson, 48, during which Johnson stabbed Stroud with a knife.

Stroud was taken to UC Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers say Johnson is facing assault charges and is being held at the Boone County Detention Center.
