Brandon Hanlan: Wycombe striker delighted to be back after ACL injury

“It’s been a long journey. There have been ups and downs, but it’s one of those moments where you have to see it through to the end.

“The physiotherapists followed me from start to finish. It’s good to have someone there who knows where your knee was and where it is now and helps you through the rehabilitation. ”

Despite his serious injury, Hanlan signed a contract extension offered by the club in December 2023.

His return comes at the right time with Wycombe in fine form under Matt Bloomfield, unbeaten in 10 league matches and having won their last four consecutive matches in all competitions.

“The plan with injuries like this is to come back stronger and hopefully not lose anything you had before,” he added.

“I just want to (play) as many minutes as possible and get back to where I was before.

“The team is very strong and I hope we can continue like this throughout the season.”

Wycombe now face back-to-back away games in the League One north west, at Stockport County on Tuesday evening, followed by Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
