Mansfield Parks and Library Launch Outdoor StoryWalk in South Park

MANSFIELD – The City of Mansfield Parks Department announced an exciting new partnership with the Mansfield Richland County Public Library to create an engaging outdoor story walk in the scenic Lower South Park area.

Public Works Director Louis Andres expressed enthusiasm for the project.

“The closed road provides a beautiful and accessible setting for families exploring the reading stations along the StoryWalk trail,” he said.

This initiative is part of a larger effort by the City of Mansfield Parks Department to foster community connections through collaborative projects.

A StoryWalk sign continues the adventure in South Park in Mansfield.

The StoryWalk will encourage literacy and a love of reading in children and provide a unique opportunity for families to enjoy the great outdoors together.

The Parks Department is committed to improving the quality of life in the community through innovative programs and partnerships.

Library Director Chris May said, “When the Parks Department contacted the library about this collaboration, it was a simple “yes.” These StoryWalk partnerships align with the library’s mission to provide engaging experiences for people of all ages, supporting a vibrant quality of life for the Richland County community.

The library has two additional partnerships in the community for outdoor literacy experiences, the Storybook Trail at Kingwood Center Gardens and a second StoryWalk recently installed in downtown Mansfield.
