When the news broke that WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark would be competing in the upcoming LPGA pro-am at The Annika, golf and basketball fans were ecstatic. Clark had spoken publicly about her plans to become a “professional golfer” in the offseason, and the Annika pro-am seemed like the perfect place to find out just how much of a joke that statement was.

Unfortunately, Clarkies across America quickly realized that there were no plans to broadcast Clark’s pro-am round online or on television. The only way to watch it would be in person…in the middle of a work week…at 7am. Tournament organizers and LPGA broadcast partners began fielding countless requests from fans to broadcast Clark’s round, and in a shocking turn of events, they actually listened.

Friday, Sports Business Journal’s Josh Carpenter reported that LPGA and tournament social feeds will now livestream Clark’s range warm-up, as well as post an interview with the former Iowa phenom. Golf Channel also announced plans to air “Golf Today” 90 minutes early (11 a.m. ET) on Wednesday, Nov. 13 to provide highlights and live preview of Clark’s front nine with Nelly Korda and the back nine with tournament host Annika Sorenstam. .

It’s not a perfect solution: fans will still wish they could watch all 18 holes of Clark’s the second pro-am in history— but it’s a step in the right direction and proof that sending angry emails can actually work. Don’t send them to us, please and thank you.
