Jennifer Lopez’s BDSM-style shoes are only suitable for a private jet

After dressing almost exclusively loose denim pants recently, Jennifer Lopez just put a major damper on her fall style this weekend. The singer and actress made the case for swapping statement pants for statement shoes as she hit the town in two ultra-high looks.

When traveling privately, you are not required to remove your shoes at TSA. Lopez took advantage by boarding her private jet in a black and white Dior skirt ensemble. She styled the preppy pieces with a pair of unexpected patent leather kitten heels. Her shoes not only went up her legs, but also featured BDSM-style closures at the back. She completed her look with an all-black version of Princess Diana’s beloved Lady Dior bag.

Lopez’s schoolgirl ensemble and edgy shoes might seem like an extreme combination, especially for a day of travel where comfort usually reigns supreme. But if there’s one thing about Lopez, it’s that she’s always willing to make her style pretty “loud.” Even if it means trading in your beloved baggy jeans for some serious gladiator shoes.

Once planned, Lopez continued to lean into transitional fall silhouettes. She was spotted yesterday in New York wearing a Gucci knit sweater and matching shorts. Like her Dior look, Lopez upgraded her ensemble with statement knee-length shoes. She wore pointy-heeled boots in a shade of brown that could best be described as “pumpkin spice.”

Those who follow Lopez’s style closely will notice that these two outfits mark a major departure from her usual uniform. The singer and actress tends to favor tight tops, chunky wedge heels, workman-style boots and pants so big they often pile up on the floor beneath her. The look is also for all seasons, with Lopez wearing it during the height of summer and the dawn of fall.

Why is she switching from big pants to tennsy skirts and shorts when the temperatures are really starting to drop? That’s a question only Lopez can answer.
