THE New England Patriots appear to have a future superstar quarterback among rookie signal callers and the No. 3 overall pick Drake Maye. He’s already shown the flashes of huge potential that the franchise saw in him before the draft.

Mayé demonstrated impressive leadership, football IQ and weaponized talent. At this point it appears to be the complete package.

Throughout his first season in the NFL, many analysts, coaches and players talked about Maye. Almost everyone had nothing but good things to say about the young quarterback.

Recently, a Patriots legend was the latest to praise Maye. This legend is none other than Ty Law, the great franchise player of all time.

Law is clearly a big fan of what he’s seen from Maye this season. He didn’t hesitate to make an optimistic statement about the new face of New England.

“His escape ability was really impressive to me,” Law said. according to Tim Crowley of NESN. “I didn’t know he had that kind of escape ability. Being able to use your legs. He threw some great passes. From a decision-making standpoint, he’s just going to get better and better. I think he’s our quarterback of the future.

So far this season, in six games, the 22-year-old quarterback has completed 64.7 percent of his pass attempts for 954 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions. He also had 233 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

These numbers show the kind of dual-threat ability Law was talking about.

In today’s NFL, teams must find quarterbacks who can play through the air. However, they also need signal callers who can extend plays with their legs and keep the defense honest.

Maye has both of these abilities. As he develops his game, he will become even more dangerous in both areas.

All that being said, it will be interesting to see what ends up happening with Maye over the next few years. If he can develop and reach his full potential, there is no limit and the superstar ability is evident.
