It’s Starbucks Red Cup Day. Here’s what you need to know about the event.

It’s Red Cup Day at coffee giant Starbucks, an unofficial holiday for Java fans to enjoy discounts and rewards.

Here’s how it works: Stop by a participating Starbucks location on Thursday and get a free 16-ounce holiday-themed reusable red cup when you purchase one of the coffee chain’s special seasonal drinks.

Eligible drinks include:

Apple Crisp Non-Dairy Cream Chai Tea Latte Apple Crisp Oat Milk Macchiato Apple Crisp Shaken Oat Milk Espresso Caramel Brulée Latte Chestnut Praline Latte Cran-Merry Orange Refresher Cran-Merry Lemonade Refresher Drink Cran-Merry Gingerbread Milk Oat Chai Hot Chocolate Pecan Crunch Oat Milk Latte Peppermint Hot Chocolate Peppermint Mocha Peppermint White Hot Chocolate Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew Pumpkin Spice Latte Salted Pecan Crunch Cold Brew Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte White Hot Chocolate What do you get apart from a free cup?

Customers who bring their red cups into Starbucks stores receive $0.10 off their orders. Starbucks Rewards members who use the Starbucks app for ordering drinks, get 25 bonus stars, worth up to $1, according to Starbucks. The coffee giant notes that customers can bring any type of reusable cup to receive the discounts.

Starbucks added that it encourages customers to use reusable cups to help it meet its stated goal of reducing waste by 50% by 2030.

Promotion is also a way to attract traffic to the company’s stores, because some consumers seem to lose their taste for his brand of Joe. The retailer launched its signature drink Pumpkin Spice Latte earlier than ever this year, amid slowing store traffic and falling sales.
