The star moved to South Korea as a young teenager to pursue her music career, and she has since released music in Korean, English, and Japanese as a member of BLACKPINK (alongside Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo ) and solo artist.

“I had to survive, I guess,” Lisa told the outlet about why she became multilingual. “It was just common sense, like to get what I wanted I had to learn and try to talk with the local people, and I spent more and more time on it.”

“Right now I’m watching one on Netflix called Love next door. I love the combination of the male character and the female character: they start off as friends! They’ve been friends for 30 years,” Lisa said of the TV series.

“These things seem so real,” she added. “(K-dramas are) nothing very serious, so when I need to try to calm down, I watch them, and it really helps me.”

Lisa recently returned to Thailand to film season 3 of The White Lotusin which she plays Thidapon Sornsin. During her time in the country, she was surprised that the rest of the cast didn’t need much guidance.

“I didn’t give them any advice, because they actually showed me some places! They’re like, ‘Oh, I went there yesterday, and it’s really good, you should go.’ It was a little strange, but it was funny,” she said.

“I’m just happy that they enjoyed Thailand, you know, that they enjoyed the Thai food, that they enjoyed the culture and that they enjoyed the weather because it’s very hot there,” she declared. “The crew and the rest of the team started speaking a little Thai, and that impressed me so much.”

During production, Lisa also had a frequent visitor. “My mother came to visit us several times and I could eat Thai food as much as I wanted,” she recalls.

“It was so nice and I have never spent so much time in Thailand after leaving. It felt like home and I also got a lot of energy from this trip,” said she added.
