More than 8.1 million Floridians voted before Election Day, Tuesday, November 5.

More than 1.1 million Democrats — 1,182,944 — chose to vote by mail, compared to 989,822 Republicans, according to the Florida Division of Elections. But more Republicans went to vote early in person, 2,549,779, compared to 1,511,828 Democrats, according to data released at 11:04 a.m. Nov. 4.

The total number of early ballots, either by mail or early voting, was 8,189,384.

This represents 58.7% of the nearly 14 million registered Florida voters eligible for the November 5 elections. In the 2020 elections, nearly 80% of Floridians who voted did so before Election Day.

Even though early voting has ended, it is still possible that some of the 695,835 absentee ballots requested but not yet returned could be received by local election offices in time to be counted.

When did early voting end in Florida?

Early voting ended Saturday, in accordance with state and federal mandates, although some counties extended their early voting until Sunday. Early voting for Pinellas and Taylor counties has been extended until Election Day due to damage and obstacles caused by Hurricane Milton. an executive order issued by Governor Ron DeSantis

Mail-in ballots will be counted provided they arrive at the Supervisor of Elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, which means now. way too late to mail them to make sure they arrive on time. Use the drop boxes, bring them to the elections office or turn them in and vote in person.

The general election will take place on Tuesday, November 5.

Of the “book closings” on October 7There were 13,949,168 people registered to vote during the November 5 elections. The distribution of the five largest groups was as follows:

  • Democrats: 4,421,790

When is the 2024 presidential election?

The general election takes place today, Tuesday November 5. Polls open and close at 7 p.m. in Florida.

To vote on Election Day, you must vote in your assigned precinct.

When are early and absentee ballots counted in Florida?

Florida law allows ballots will be processed as soon as they are received and will be counted as soon as the county completes public testing of the automatic tabulation equipment. THE the results are kept secret and their early publication is a crime.

Will we know the results on election night in Florida?

Probably, and there will almost certainly be enough votes counted to project winners. When the polling stations close, the results already received will be displayed. More will be added as returns come in from across the state.

But no state can count every vote on election night, and results can change days, or even weeks, later. Votes that will be counted after Election Day include:

  • Ballots that were challenged, then processed and counted.
