    When it comes to discussions about who is the GOAT of a competitive sport, there is usually a valid debate surrounding a number of competitors as to who truly is the greatest.

    With Faker’s fifth Worlds victory in a career spanning over a decade, this conversation can’t take place in League of Legends. He is the greatest player that has ever touched and will ever touch the game, no questions asked. Nobody goes near it.

    He has by far the most world titles at 5 yearsthe next closest player being Bengi at 3; a player who was on a team with Faker for each of those victories. He holds just about every national and international record in terms of wins, matches played, champions chosen and matches won due to the length of his play.

    Chances are we’ll never see another player close to breaking their record, even if League of Legends has been around for decades. And Faker still plans to add even more trophies to his cabinet after this.

    It’s easy to think, as a League of Legends fan, that we glorify Faker a little too much sometimes. that there should have been another player to come in and at least challenge him now.

    And, to be honest, there were some. Faker has been beaten by some world-class mid laners over the years. It’s not like he wins every tournament. For almost a decade, this fourth world title eluded him.

    However, he came back in 2023 and proved that he was still the best, and he did it again. at the 2024 Worlds. Not to mention, he also won the tournament MVP award in 2024, proving that he’s not just riding on the young and talented players around him as the most iconic roster in League history of Legends.

    No one has his resilience, his courage and his determination to win. Faker isn’t put on a pedestal, he made his own way there and earned the spotlight.

    He is the shining star of League of Legends, and he will forever exist as not only one of the greatest League of Legends players of all time, but also as a man who defined esports and gave every professional player in every game a face to admire. .
