Fun re-release trailer for the screwball comedy classic “Hundreds of Beavers”

“Stop arguing. Get your act together. Laugh out loud.” Guess who’s back?! SRH has announced a December 2024 re-release of the hit cult comedy Hundreds of beavers – made in Wisconsin and Michigan. The “anarchic, frozen slapstick action comedy” was first released in theaters in January 2024 after playing at festivals in 2023. It subsequently found a wide audience and became a little-known genre sensation. In this supernatural 19th-century winter epic, a drunken apple seller must go from zero to hero and become a fur trapper by defeating hundreds of pesky beavers. “The film captures the zany, anarchic energy by introducing a new gag every few seconds…A man-against-nature tale of overcoming the cruel and unforgiving landscape of a northeastern winter, Hundreds of beavers is a noisy and dynamic theatrical experience.” Ryland Brickson Cole Tews, Olivia Graves, Wes Tank, Doug MancheskiAnd Luis Rico. If you missed the original broadcast, tons of arthouse theaters across the US will be playing it again this December. To reclaim his fortune, he must become the greatest fur trapper the continent has ever known by defeating hundreds of beavers. Hundreds of beavers is a heroic epic without dialogue it’s endlessly inventive, embracing the innovative spirit of cinema’s early decades while using animation to reimagine natural laws in creative and compelling ways.” Hundreds of beavers is both written and directed by an animator/editor/filmmaker Mike Cheslikmaking his directorial debut after a few other short films before that. The screenplay is by Cheslik and Ryland Brickson Cole Tews. It is produced by Kurt Ravenwood, Matt Sabljak and Ryland Brickson Cole Tews. This originally premiered at Fantastic Fest 2022 and Fantasia 2023. Hundreds of beavers opened for the first time in American cinemas on January 26, 2024. It will be replayed in cinemas this time December – announcements.
