Sony announced its mid-cycle refresh back in September. The company was light on details, although we were told at the time that the updated console offered a 45% increase in graphics rendering power thanks to 67% more compute units and a 28% faster memory.

The PlayStation 5 Pro’s $699 price tag came as a shock to some, especially since Sony hasn’t reduced the cost of the original in light of the updated version. That’s because a standard PS5 will still cost you $499 – the same price it launched in 2020.
