RNC raises concerns about voter suppression as Trump supporter arrested for telling voters to stay in line

The Republican National Committee and the Trump campaign raised concerns with Pennsylvania’s secretary of the commonwealth about “voter suppression” at early voting locations, as a Trump supporter was arrested for telling voters to stay in line to vote.

Michael Whatley, RNC Chairman shared a video on On Monday, Pennsylvania GOP state committeewoman Val Biancaniello repeatedly told voters, “(don’t) think outside the box,” as she was arrested at an early voting location in the Delaware County.

“A supporter of President Trump was arrested today for encouraging people to stay in the early voting line and vote freely in Pennsylvania,” Whatley wrote on Commonwealth that voters are being turned away in conservative areas. This is voter suppression by the left.

A man recording video of the arrest said: “Wow. Wow. Wow. That’s crazy! You locked her up? That’s crazy, man!”

Biancaniello posted on X on Monday after his arrest, writing: “Stay online and #Vote! They arrested me and I didn’t break any laws. I encouraged people to get in line and vote because Democrats were discouraging voters from voting in person today in Delaware County. In fact, the election worker told people in line to go to the satellite office in Chester Heights because the line was shorter there. Do you know what happened when they arrived at the Chester Heights office to vote in person? They were told they had no more applications (for postal voting). This is voter suppression in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. I did nothing wrong except encourage people to line up and vote. So they arrested me. VOTE!”

THE RNC noted in a news release about the arrest, he had sent a letter to Pennsylvania’s secretary of the commonwealth on Monday about his concerns that election officials were discouraging voters from voting.

“Voters regularly report to us that at Commonwealth election offices they are being told that ‘the computers are broken’, that the site will close early, that they will no longer accept voters and that ballots postal votes will not be counted. read the lettersent on behalf of the RNC and the Trump campaign.

Tuesday is the last day for Pennsylvania voters to request their absentee ballot in person at an election office.

Regarding Biancaniello’s arrest, Delaware County spokesman Ryan Herlinger told the Delaware Valley Journal“On Monday, October 28, 2024, an incident occurred at the Voter Service Center located in the Government Center Building in Media, Pennsylvania, resulting in the arrest and deportation of a woman who, according to several eyewitnesses , was disruptive, belligerent, and attempted to influence voters waiting in line. His behavior sparked several complaints from people waiting in line. Delaware County Park Police, who provide security for the government center building, were on scene and responded quickly to the disturbance.
