North Carolina carrier revenues decline month-over-month in October

The Tar Heel State generated $612 million in management, the highest amount ever without promotional spending from eight online sportsbooks.

North Carolina sports betting operators reported their lowest win rate in October since online betting went live in March.

THE The North Carolina State Lottery Commission reported As of Tuesday, the eight mobile sportsbooks generated $48.7 million in gross revenue out of $612 million. Revenue fell 70.1% month-over-month, while stake amounts increased 6.4%.

The maintenance of 8% follows a trend of successful bettors in the United States in October and proved costly for operators since the amount generated was the third best this year. Not including promotional bets spent by sportsbooks, North Carolinians spent $589.1 million on online betting, the highest amount ever in the state.

The previous lowest win rate was 9.1% in August, while October’s was considerably lower than September’s 12.2%. This is only the second time in eight months that the amount has fallen below double digits.

The Tar Heel State filled its coffers with about $8.8 million, down from the $12.6 million raised in September.

Bad journey for operators

A disappointing October for sports betting caused revenue growth to stagnate at a time when college football and the NFL dominate the market. North Carolina Sports Betting landscape. Professional football was big for bettors as the favorites put together a stunning run that two gaming CEOs called the worst ever for the house.

The $560.6 million paid out by sports betting operators is the second-largest amount in a single month, behind the $590.8 million won by bettors in March, which had just three weeks of Paris approximately.

That month, sportsbooks spent more than $202 million on promotional bets. In October, operators only gave away $23 million in free bets, a 37.8% drop from September. Sportsbooks claimed $2.74 million in canceled/voided bets, the second lowest ever.

Since March, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, bet365, ESPN BET and Underdog Sportsbook have combined to generate $3.7 billion in revenue and $430 million in revenue.

Pari-mutuel betting update

The North Carolina State Lottery Commission also announced Tuesday that it has taken revisions to all pari-mutuel betting rules introduced in September. As the commission continues to prepare for horse racing and early deposit betting, public comments on the revised version will be accepted until November 27.

The public can make them via a web form at NCGaming.gov. The commission will also hold an in-person public hearing to accept comments on Nov. 18 at 9 a.m.

There is no date or timetable specified for the launch of pari-mutuel betting.
