When should political signs be removed?

GREAT FALLS — Now that the election is over, political signs must be removed from Great Falls properties by Tuesday, Nov. 12.

When should political signs be removed?

In Great Falls, political signs can be installed 60 days before an election but must be removed within seven days of the election.

Although this has not been a major problem in the past, police can respond to complaints about long-standing political signs if they are filed.

“We don’t have police officers looking for signs,” said Great Falls City Commissioner Joe McKenney. “The city will respond to complaints, and maybe it will be a phone call, but I don’t even think the city has received complaints about the signs in the past.

In Cascade County, outside the city, signs can be installed 90 days before the election and must be removed within two weeks after the election.
