The family of Chanel Maya Banks, the Gossip Girl actor who disappeared without a trace two weeks agoinsists she is still missing, even though authorities have confirmed she was found safe.

After two weeks of research, Los Angeles Police Department announced on November 12 that after receiving a tip, they were driven to a home in Texas, where a woman identified herself as Banks. It was reported that no foul play was suspected in his disappearance and that the case has since been closed.

However, after being informed of the LAPD update, Banks’ cousin Danielle-Tori Singh said it was “fake news” and vowed to continue handing out flyers depicting Banks as if gone, ABC7 reported.

A few hours after the police announcement, an Instagram job shared from Banks’ verified Instagram account claimed that she did not disappear and instead left voluntarily to “escape my cage.”

She accused her family of sexual abuse and “manipulation” – it is unclear whether Banks made these allegations in the past or whether police investigated them.

“I met with the police and made sure that not only am I okay, but that I am finally free,” she continued. “They said one time, you are free in Christ Jesus, you are truly free, so I told my husband six days ago that I was going to get baptized by one of my favorite pastors, the Pastor Robert Clancy.”

According to his Instagram, Clancy, a revivalist pastor, was indeed in San Antonio, Texas, accommodation a three-day Repentance Revival Movement conference, November 8-10.

“So I did my Exodous and took my Freedom Ride first class (on Spirit Air, no less) to the Promised Land,” she said, adding that she now just wants freedom, not only for herself, but for all “suffering in silence”.

Singh, who came from Toronto to help with the search, called the woman found in Texas an “imposter.”

“I have the still image from the Texas Police Department body camera that was shown to us on Monday, November 11th at the Pacific Police Station in Los Angeles,” she wrote in an Instagram Story. “This is the woman we are told is Chanel. We told them it wasn’t Chanel. They didn’t listen to us and closed the case. This is why @ohhheychanel won’t post a video saying she’s safe because it’s not Chanel.

The Independent has contacted LAPD for comment.

In a later story, Singh included a side-by-side photo of the “imposter” woman found in Texas and “our Chanel.”

Banks was initially reported missing by her family, who said they had not seen or heard from her since October 30. Those close to him said it was very unusual for the actor to be disconnected from them for more than a few days.

“Five days of no news from my cousin are red flags and alarm bells,” Singh said previously. KABC. “She doesn’t go more than 48 hours without talking to me or her mother… This girl is more of a big sister to me.”

Police carried out four social checks at his home in the Playa Vista neighborhood of Los Angelestwo on November 7 and two more on November 8, according to a now-defunct report. GoFundMe page launched by Singh to help them in their research.

Banks warned her followers not to “donate to a GoFundMe that says I’m missing.” I don’t miss it.

During those checks at the apartment – where Banks has lived with her husband for a year – authorities found her dog and her belongings, but not Banks, it was reported.

Banks “doesn’t go anywhere without her little dog, who was also left behind.” She also doesn’t have her vehicle because it is parked in her garage. She would NEVER go anywhere without telling her mother or myself,” Singh wrote on the fundraising page.

Singh also accused Banks’ husband of not cooperating with law enforcement and assisting in the search.

“He’s not willing to help the LAPD.” He’s not willing to help me or his mother find her,” Singh told KABC. “He pulls flyers off poles and cars.”
