Arizona Wildcats Continue Freefall After Latest Loss

THE Arizona Wildcats continuing to prove to the nation how weak the PAC-12 conference has been over the past few years.

Even under new head coach Brent Brennan, the Wildcats have managed to retain the majority of their talent, while former head coach Jedd Fisch has brought his talents to the team’s service. Washington Huskies.

Tetairoa McMillan continues to be the lone bright spot on a team filled with darkness, having another productive day even though he didn’t lead the team in targets Saturday during their blowout loss to the UCF Knights.

The latest loss, the fifth in as many attempts, saw Arizona continue to channel its inner Tom Petty in the latest iteration of AthleticsThe college football power rankings that Chris Vannini produces every week.

After Vannini ranked the Wildcats 64th in last week’s power rankings, they have now fallen to 80th, continuing to inch closer and closer to outside the top 100.

While much of the blame can be placed on Brennan, who is currently on only his second team as head coach and has a 37-54 overall record with a 26-35 conference record, maybe it’s time. for a discussion about how the PAC-12 as a whole is vastly overrated, especially in the last year.

Yes, the usual conference suspects, the Oregon Ducksare one of the few undefeated teams in the country, but outliers exist in every sample.

The rest of the teams that were members of the now-defunct PAC-12 conference last year played to a combined score of 48-44 which is greatly improved by the Ducks, including the Huskies holding a record of 5-4 after finishing second. competing for the national championship last year.

Coaching as a whole has also proven to be overrated, particularly with Kalen DeBoer, Washington’s coach last year, leaving the program to take over after Nick Saban retired. Alabama Crimson Tideand this program has struggled to find the consistency and discipline that those who have watched the program for years have become accustomed to.

Programs that once called the PAC-12 home have a lot of work to do, with Arizona potentially being the worst of the bunch.

Unfortunately for the Wildcats, with Brent Brennan at the helm, it may take a while before things start to improve.
