PARIS (AP) — Zakaria Aboukhlal’s late goal gave Toulouse a 1-0 win over Reims in the French championship on Sunday, extending the southern team’s unbeaten streak to three matches.

Reims had the chance to move into the top five, but Aboukhlal’s goal instead sealed a third consecutive defeat for the Champagnes.

Aboukhlal scored in the 84th minute with a subtle pass over the Reims goalkeeper.

Toulouse climbs to 12th place in the standings with 12 points in 10 matches, two points behind Reims.

Paris Saint-Germain beat Lens 1-0 on Saturday to move six points clear at the top.

Aboukhlal was once again decisive after scoring a double last week against Montpellier. He has scored four goals in his last four league matches.

Montpellier loses again

In a duel between two teams in difficulty, Montpellier, last, lost 1-0 at penultimate Le Havre.

The hosts ended a six-game losing streak by inflicting a fifth consecutive defeat on Montpellier.

Abdoulaye Touré scored from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute to take a five-point lead over Montpellier.

Additionally, Gaétan Perrin scored twice as Auxerre beat Rennes 4-0 in their mid-table clash.

After a 3-0 defeat to PSG last weekend, Marseille traveled to Nantes later on Sunday.
