The transformative potential of AI is expected to disrupt the job market with tasks rather than roles becoming the focal point, Wipro Executive Chairman Rishad Premji said on Tuesday.

He said businesses around the world are gradually adopting AI technologies and many are cautious about the rapid pace of its evolution. However, consumer adoption is outpacing business implementation.

While some companies are moving from piloting to production, many are cautious about scaling due to the challenges posed by rapid technological advancements. “Most companies are panicked that if something goes wrong and they go off the rails, it will significantly delay how quickly they’re going to adopt,” Premji said.
