When it debuted earlier this yearthe 240 hp 600e was the most powerful production Abarth model in the brand’s history. Now there are 40 more power from its front-mounted electric motor and a much more track-focused attitude.

The last Abarth 600e Scorpion‘s power increase is due to a proprietary 280 hp electric motor which he says was developed using the Formula E test bench. This motor sends power via a JTEKT The Torsen mechanical limited-slip differential is on its way to a set of sticky, track-ready Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires that provide enough traction to launch the small Italian sedan from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 5.85 seconds.

To bring the car down from its electronically limited top speed of 200 km/h (approximately 125 mph), a set of performance-oriented 380 mm (15″) disc brakes, developed by Alcon, feature large calipers. “four-piston monoblocks” for a larger swept area, improved fade resistance and superior heat dissipation.

Abarth engineers have also improved the chassis derived from Fiat under the 600e Scorpionissima with a new rear anti-roll bar that improves the balance of the 600e Touring at the limit by improving the rear rigidity of the electric vehicle, while a new high-capacity coolant pump works to reduce the battery derating, which could limit vehicle performance as revs accumulate.

Inside, Sabelt sports seats emphasize lateral support and give the limited-edition Abarth a sportier, track-focused feel than its touring-focused sibling. The new 280hp Scorpionissima and Touring models of the new 600e are built on an updated version of the same Stellantis CMP Modular Platform seen for the first time the Jeep Avenger compact electric crossover.

Production of the Abarth 600e Scorpionissima will be limited to just 1,949 units and will be available in two colors (both shown here). A Level 2 “Assisted Driving” package and a full range of ADAS features are also included.
