The Nets made enough plays in their 107-105 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday and improved to 5-4 in nine games since opening the season with road losses to Atlanta and Orlando.

The Nets used a different starting lineup by inserting Ben Simmons off the bench. He finished with six points and 12 assists. Ziaire Williams started for Dorian Finney-Smith (sprained left ankle) and could do so again if the veteran forward is unable to play.

Boston will try to avoid back-to-back losses for the first time this season after blowing a 15-point lead in its 117-116 home loss to the Hawks on Tuesday in its first tournament game of the season.

Jaylen Brown, who missed Friday’s game against Brooklyn, scored a season-high 37 points and Derrick White added 31. Jayson Tatum was held to 20 points on 5-of-16 shooting from the field as the Celtics were dominated in many facets against Atlanta.

Al Horford (sprained left big toe) is out for Boston. Kristaps Porzingis remains out while rehabbing from left tibialis posterior tendon surgery, and Jaden Springer (left knee tendinopathy) is also out.
