Ant Anstead is set to make an appearance alongside her ex Christine Haack (formerly Hall) on his next show The reversala source tells PEOPLE.

“Ant will appear on the show, but he won’t be Christina’s partner,” the source said. Christina previously joked about her second husband joining the show, telling a fan in her Instagram comments it would be “great” to include itbefore later specifying that she “I can no longer work with exes“.

The reversalslated to premiere in early 2025, also stars Christina’s first husband, Tarek El Moussa, and current wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. Her third husband, Josh Hall, was to be her partner in the home competition series, before their unexpected wedding. separated in July.

Christina has since resumed filming without Josh, a source previously confirmed to PEOPLE, but the status of her involvement in the series, if any, is unclear.

Anstead’s exact role in the series has not yet been confirmed. PEOPLE reached out to HGTV, but did not immediately receive a response.

Christina first sparked rumors about Anstead’s involvement over the summer.

“Would it be great if Ant replaced Josh on The Flip Off? Ratings would skyrocket. If that happens, I need credit. Lol,” an Instagram commenter wrote on a post Christina shared on Instagram in July.

In response, Christina agreed: “Lol, that would be a great ‘notes’ idea, just saying.”

However, she later shut down the idea while speaking to Backgrid, saying: “It would be good for the ratings, but I can no longer work with exes. I already work with Tarek.

Fans who monitor the designer’s social media activity may not be surprised by Christina’s change of heart, as she and Anstead, who share 5-year-old son Hudson, recently engaged in many friendly exchanges.

Christina even re-followed her ex on Instagram and later explained to Backgrid: “Ant and I share Hudson…and I feel like he deserves to get along.”

This gesture marked a turning point in their relationship after the divorce, which involved a heated custody battle on their son. Anstead appears to have also followed Christina on Instagram to October 19.

Christina’s evolving relationship with Anstead comes amidst her separation in progress Josh, who filed for divorce on July 15 after almost three years of marriage. The former Austin-based real estate professional quoted “irreconcilable differences” and requested child support from Christina. The HGTV star responded with her own legal filing on July 24, which requested that neither be allowed to seek spousal support.

Josh then made a rare public statement denying that he requested $65,000 in spousal support from Christina.

Christina was spotted filming The reversal without Josh on several occasions since July, but HGTV has yet to confirm whether Josh will still make appearances on the show.

The highly anticipated series will mark the first time Christina and Tarek have appeared on a show together since Flip or Flop ended in 2022 after ten seasons.

The couple were married for seven years until 2016 and they share daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9. They continued to film their hit series together for several seasons after the divorce. Tarek and Heather also welcomed their son Tristan in 2023.
